About the programme

Over the course of 4-weeks this summer, you will gain valuable skills training and learn how to create your own campaigns for prominent brands, moving through the process from briefing to strategy, creative concepting to final presentation. All in a supportive team environment where you will have guidance and mentorship from the best in our industry.

No previous knowledge or work experience in the creative industries is necessary, we’ll teach you everything you need to know. All we need from you is a passion for learning something new.

There are 8 places up for grabs at global advertising agency VCCP and 4 intern places offered at B2B marketing agency Lesniak Swann, both based in Stoke-on-Trent.

Who are we looking for?

Who are we looking for?

There are a wide range of roles and skills required in creative agencies, from copywriters, art directors and social media creators, all the way through to data analysts, researchers and producers. We are hoping to attract a cross-section of applicants, with a variety of skills loosely categorised into three buckets:

Thinkers

Often thinkers like to ask questions, scan books and articles, debate, and share ideas:

  • Like to understand why people do what they do, how things work, what drives trends.
  • Might be into politics or pop culture, business or books.
  • Inquisitive, always ask why.

Makers

Often makers are creative and artistic:

  • Like film, creative expression, drama, arts, culture.
  • Might like design, fashion, photography, branding, the metaverse, doodling, writing.
  • Creative, imaginative.

Doers

Often doers are well organised, like being in control, and good with people:

  • Organised people, like arranging things, planning.
  • Running around doing stuff, organising tournaments or events.
  • Practical, make stuff happen.

How do I apply?

How do I apply?

As we are looking for passion and potential rather than experience, we have set a series of short questions for you to answer, giving us an insight into how you think and the things that interest you.

Your responses can be submitted in any format you feel most comfortable with (e.g a short presentation deck, a video, an audio recording or a written document) – but each answer shouldn’t take us more than 2 minutes to read, watch or listen to. You can submit a different format for each answer if you wish.
